Grant Description
Grants and in-kind assistance to USA, Canada, and International grassroots nonprofit organizations and individuals to advocate for disadvantaged children and youth in eligible regions. Funding is intended for small, innovative organizations that address the needs of children and youth living in poverty, discrimination, and injustice. The Fund helps partners grow, and connect to each other, and to national and regional networks. Global Fund for Children serves communities in select regions in the Americas, Africa, Europe, Eurasia, and Asia.

Global Fund for Children (GFC) has partnered with more than 1,000 community-based organizations worldwide to help children and youth reach their full potential and advance their rights.

GFC is committed to selecting partners who align with their values and mission, and whose work will be enriched by partnering with GFC. GFC is especially interested in organizations led by people with lived experience, including young people, that aim to change unjust systems and create new opportunities for children, youth, and their communities to aspire and thrive.

Focus areas include:

  • Education: The Fund works closely with their partners to make sure children across the world can learn, play, and go to school. The Fund is committed to helping every child reach their potential through equal access to quality education.
  • Gender Equity: GFC and partners promote gender equity, advance girls’ education, inspire healthy masculinities, support the rights of LGBTQ+ youth, and ensure that young people live free from gender-based violence and exploitation.
  • Safety and Wellbeing: The Fund is committed to ending violence and exploitation of children, to helping young survivors rebuild their lives, and to protecting the mental health and wellbeing of every child and young person.
  • Climate Resilience: Young people are mobilizing to address climate change. They are building resilience in their communities, educating their families and communities, advocating for policy changes, and stewarding the environment. The Fund works with young leaders and youth-led organizations finding real solutions for both people and the planet.
  • Youth Power: Young people are achieving incredible things - creating change in the present and shaping the future. The Fund helps young people become leaders and changemakers, making sure they have the opportunities, skills, and confidence to tackle the issues central to their lives and their communities.
  • Solidarity in Emergencies: In times of crisis, the Fund is committed to supporting their partners around the world as they respond in their communities. From natural disasters to conflict or health emergencies, GFC's local partners are well-positioned to address emerging challenges. GFC provides emergency grants, technical support, and well-being solidarity to their partners as they navigate emergencies impacting their organizations and their communities.
